The Lego Brickfair and Joss Whedon's Serenity Come to Town

By Brian F. | in General August 5, 2012

This weekend, the big Brickfair came to the Dulles Expo Center. Lego enthusiasts of all ages show off their insanely amazing creations. The big draw for me was getting to see Adrian Drake's massive, beautifully detailed reconstruction of Joss Whedon's Firefly class, Serenity ship. Adrian specifically recreated the one from the Serenity movie.

--- if, for some odd reason, you have not seen either Firefly (TV) or Serenity (Movie), you best stop reading this and go watch them now on Netflix. You will be happy you did. ---

It took Adrian 475 hours to build and IMO, it was worth the effort. I was so very giddy and gleeful, I almost knocked down some kids to get a chance to talk with him and learn more. Adrian was super kind enough to show me the insides of Serenity.

You absolutely must go here and check out these beautiful shots. http://www.flickr.com/photos/42712314@N02/sets/72157630918575066/

If you get a chance to see Serenity and meet Adrian at an upcoming Brickfair, I highly recommend you do. Oh and please check out more of Adrian's work here at Brickfrenzy.com
